Question & Answer
What is the recovery time for a total hip replacement? -Barbara
Hi Barbara!
Typically, full recovery time is about 3 months which can vary depending on which approach your surgeon chooses! A little physical therapy in the beginning helps considerably!
However, the majority of this recovery depends largely on you and how focused you are in the healing process!
Mindset is everything for recovery! And a little pain medicine as well!
Every day should get better and you'll notice!
If you have any problems with your hip or the incision site, such as increased pain, redness, discharge, or swelling...make sure you seek medical attention by calling your surgeon or visiting a healthcare facility for an exam.
As you heal, be sure to eat foods higher in Vitamin C and rich in proteins as well as drinking lots of water! This will help your body heal faster!
Hope this helps! Please feel free to ask more questions anytime!
All the best!
